Filming a 30-Acre Outdoor Venue

Hudson Gardens is 30 acres of gardens, trails and event spaces along Santa Fe Drive in Littleton, minutes from downtown. It hosts everything from corporate meetings and community festivals to concerts and weddings, and most of it happens outside. That’s the whole appeal, and it’s also what makes video here different from a ballroom.

Outdoor sound is the first problem: wind, traffic on Santa Fe, and a stage that isn’t built for cameras. We use wireless lavs and shotgun mics with proper wind protection, and pull a feed from the sound company when there is one. Light is the second: the gardens look best in the last two hours of the day, so we plan the run of show around that where we can. And the grounds are made for aerials. Our FAA-certified pilots can add drone coverage when the venue signs off and the airspace is clear.

Event coverage usually lands between $800 and $5,000 per filming day depending on hours on site, number of cameras, drone, and turnaround. Wedding coverage has set pricing on our wedding page. Tell us the date and what the event is for and we’ll quote it.

Hudson Gardens Video FAQ

Often, yes. Our pilots hold FAA Remote Pilot certificates and the aircraft is registered for commercial use. We need the venue’s written permission and clear airspace on the day, and the pilot has final say. Drone footage is planned for but never promised.

We shoot rain or shine and carry weather protection for the gear. If the event moves indoors we move with it. Outdoor lighting changes fast at Hudson Gardens, so we plan interview and drone windows in advance.

Yes. Weddings are a smaller part of our work now but we’ve filmed at Hudson Gardens and still take them on. Coverage includes a highlight film, full ceremony and speeches.

Yes. Autumn Leaves Video Productions is fully insured and a certificate of insurance naming the venue is available on request.
