A Market That Runs on Approvals
Colorado Springs is not a smaller Denver. It is a defense and aerospace economy sitting next to a growing healthcare and tech sector, with a concentration of military installations and government contractors that changes how a video project actually runs.
The filming is rarely the hard part here. The hard part is base access, escort requirements, public affairs review, and finding out three days before the shoot that the footage has to clear someone who is on leave. We plan around that instead of pretending it does not exist.
Autumn Leaves Video Productions is based in Denver, about 70 minutes north on I-25, and we bring full corporate, conference, and drone coverage south. Filming across Colorado since 2015, fully insured, and used to working inside somebody else’s approval process.

Filming in Defense and Secure Environments
We have lots of experience filming on military bases. The approval chain is almost always the longest item on the schedule, not the filming. Here is how we plan around it.
Before the Shoot
Tell us early what has to be approved and who signs off. Crew names, vehicle details, and equipment lists usually need to go in ahead of time for base or facility access, and that lead time is not something we can compress on your behalf.
We also want to know what is off limits on camera before we get there. A shot list built around your restrictions is faster than a shoot day spent asking permission one frame at a time.
On Site and After
We work escorted when that is the requirement, keep the crew small, and stay out of the way of people doing actual work. Our gear footprint is deliberately modest, which matters in rooms where a full lighting package is not happening.
If footage has to be reviewed before anything is published, we build that into the delivery schedule rather than treating it as a surprise. Review rounds with a public affairs office take longer than review rounds with a marketing manager, and the timeline should say so.

Drone Work Here Is Genuinely Complicated
This is the most airspace-restricted metro in Colorado. Anyone promising you Garden of the Gods aerials without mentioning permits or military airspace is not a reputable business.
Military and Controlled Airspace
Colorado Springs Airport puts Class C airspace over a large part of the city, so authorization is required before we fly across much of it.
Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases carry military restrictions, and the Cheyenne Mountain complex sits under a prohibited area that is an absolute no-fly. No certificate, permit, or client relationship changes that one.
City Parks and Garden of the Gods
City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services prohibits drone operation in city parks without express written consent and a Commercial Film Permit.
Garden of the Gods is tighter still: commercial filming only, weekdays only, inside defined time windows, and no permits issued during peak visitor season or raptor breeding season. If your shoot lands in the wrong month, the answer is no regardless of budget.
How We Handle It
We check the specific address and the calendar before the shoot date, not the morning of, and we tell you what is realistic while there is still time to change the plan.
Our pilots hold FAA Remote Pilot certificates and our aircraft is registered for commercial use. Ask any videographer for that paperwork. Weather and FAA restrictions can still ground us, so drone footage is never promised in advance.
Scoped to the Project, Not a Package
There is no fixed package price, because a defense-sector capability video, a downtown expo, and a healthcare testimonial do not need the same crew or hours. Forcing your project into a box helps nobody.
Corporate, conference, and event work generally runs $800 to $4,000 per day for filming and post production. Where you land inside that range depends on the factors listed here. Send us the details and we will scope it honestly, including anything we think you do not need.
Payment is 50% at booking and 50% after filming. Any travel cost from Denver is itemized on the quote so there are no surprises.
